Tools to Help Entrepreneurs Create the Kind of Life YOU Want

So many entrepreneurs start the new year eagerly wanting to make changes in their business as well as their lives. You make all kinds of resolutions that are good ideas. But, after only a few days or weeks, you slump back into the same old routine.

Why is it that some entrepreneurs move forward while others can’t?

I believe to move forward that you have to be empowered by the realization that you have control of your life and that you get to create the kind of life you want.

So..how can you create a life you love?

It all starts with your thoughts.

Your energy flows from your good thoughts whether consciously or subconsciously. So if you’re coming from a yucky place, you need to look at the limiting beliefs that are controlling you.

Here are some tools to use to get your business and life out of that stagnant place:

  • Keep a gratitude journal. Journal about the huge vision of what you want your life to be.  Write an intention statement in the present tense.  “I’m doing this, rather than I want to or plan to do this.” Write what you have to be grateful for – the abundance you have in your life. Make it fun. Don’t just put down what you think you should.  Each morning give yourself the gift of reading these thoughts to yourself to shift your mindset into the right place.

  • Center yourself on what really works for you.  I have a lot more energy and productive days when I make time for yoga, because that’s something that I really enjoy. Find what works for you and make it another one of your good habits, like putting on sunscreen and drinking water.

  • Don’t be judgmental.  We all ebb and flow, that’s a reality.  So if you’re caught being judgmental about what you did or didn’t do, you’re really just sabotaging yourself. As you go through the natural business ups and downs, don’t get irritated with yourself.  Just get back on track.

  • Come from a place of abundance, not fear. During these challenging economic times you may find yourself feeling desperate for the sale. Your fear is coming through, and it’s repelling those around you. That fearful energy is never attractive. Focus instead on abundance and all that you have to give. Focus on providing the best service you can, with the faith that those who are meant to work with you will.

Taking some new action to move your business forward may put you in a fearful place.  It’s normal to feel fear, but you can use it as an opportunity to grow. Even if you make mistakes along the way, have faith in yourself (and trust in the process) that goodness comes from trying and failing forward.
