The Get It Done Blog

Want to Make Your Blog Profitable?

Blogging for ProfitsBlogging is my favorite and most powerful business tool. It helps me stay connected with what’s important to my community, and that helps me provide services and products that they’re hungry to buy.

I learned how to blog the hard way, I made many mistakes and I did it by trial and error. To save you a lot of time, frustration and money let me share with you some of what I've learned.

There are three core strategies to blogging that make all the difference between a blog that just sits there and a blog that converts visitors into buyers.

I call them the Blogging ABCs:

  • A. ATTRACT:

Set up a blog that pulls in readers My SEO expert says that your blog is hands down your best SEO (search engine optimization) tool. It’s also one of the easiest! By learning a few marketing techniques – like creating valuable content, using keywords, posting frequently and connecting your blog to social networking sites – your blog quickly becomes a magnet that pulls in readers.

  • B. BUILD your list:

Maximize your blog with an irresistible free offer Your blog should also be one of your best list building tools. How so? Well if you’re pulling readers into your blog you then want to convert them into a potential client by offering a FREE congruent offer. Your readers supply their names and email addresses in your opt-in box in exchange for the free offer, and you get to add them to your list so you can communicate with them regularly.

  • C. CONNECT:

Convert visitors into customers Your blog provides you with a platform to connect with your target audience. If you’ve implemented step A and B you now have people on your list and you can continue to connect with them and build upon your relationship. You can send them high quality information like newsletters or targeted offers. They’ll get to know, like and trust you and from those quality relationships you can ultimately convert visitors into BUYING customers.

Beyond these three key strategies, here are some details that you’ll need to incorporate to make your blog profitable:

  • Post high-quality information often, at least 2 to 3 times a week. There are simple ways to do this even if you run out of ideas or get writer’s block.

  • Optimize your blog. Use keywords that make it EASY for your target market to find you on Google.

  • Set up RSS – Real Simple Syndication.

  • Automate the connection between your blog and social networking sites to pull even more people in, thus saving you tons of time in free marketing!

  • Create an “irresistible free offer” that is congruent with your community.

  • Publish an ezine that keeps your name and message in front of your readers so that you can build trusting relationships with them.

The good news is you don't have to be a technical expert or a professional writer to have an effective blog. If you want to learn more, I have a great info product, which I call Blogging ABCs. I love handing over EXACTLY what you need to get it done, so if you know your blog could use some help or even if you’re just getting started check it out. What is a Blog?

Blog One of the easiest and most effective ways you can get your great ideas and wisdom out to the world is by using a blog.  If you’re new to that term a blog is short for web log.

Blogger (a blogging service owned by Google) defines it this way:

“A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world. Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules. In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not.”
